Structure and Operations

The CSFD is governed by a Core Group, in line with its Terms of Reference and with the Commission’s rules on the creation and operation of expert groups. The Core Group comprises  a Chair and Vice-Chair of the forum, together with the Chairs of each of the Working Groups of the forum. The current CSFD has organized itself into four working groups on broad thematic areas as follows

• Working group on the EU Action Plan on Drugs
•  Working group on Relations with International Institutions
• Working group on Civil Society Involvement with National Drug Policies
• Working group on Minimum Quality Standards

Plenary meetings take place in Brussels once every year, and the core group also has one face to face meeting per annum outside the plenary. Both of these events are directly organized and supported by the Commission.
